Fairfield Industries Announces the Release of the Z700 Marine Nodal System
November 25, 2008 - Sugar Land, Texas, 25 November, 2008: Fairfield Industries announces the release of the latest member of the Z family of seismic acquisition systems, the Z700 Marine Nodal System. The nodal design of the Z700 defines this revolutionary system. Each node operates autonomously, completely independent of all other nodes, recording cable-free and communication-free continuously for up to fifteen days. Acquisition is a true two vessel operation, with one node-handling vessel and one source vessel. There are no restrictions on receiver intervals or the number of receiver lines deployed, perfectly suited for full azimuth surveys. When deployed, each Z700™ node may be attached along a rope line, and easily recovered, analogous to the way fishermen retrieve long lines of crab pots.
Fairfield Industries’ Data Acquisition Division will begin Z700™ operations in early 2009, expanding its non-exclusive seismic database in the Gulf of Mexico. The Z700™ Marine Nodal System is also available for sale worldwide by the Systems Division of Fairfield Industries.
Fairfield Industries is headquartered in Houston, Texas, and offers a complete suite of seismic imaging services – from data acquisition to visualization. Privately held, Fairfield Industries is the leader in cable-free acquisition system manufacturing, and maintains the largest bottom referenced, multi-client database in the Gulf of Mexico.
