The Ascent From Origin to Necessity
BOX technology evolved out of FairfieldNodal's vast experience collecting seismic data in difficult environments known to challenge any and all seismic operations. BOX is the first commercially available system to enable seismic crews to seamlessly collect data across land, transition zone and shallow water environs using only the one system. In essence, BOX has altered the manner in which seismic data are collected in the field, expanding the capabilities of multicomponent data acquisition and providing contractors an absolute acquisition advantage. The end result: the best quality data possible to meet the ever-expanding needs of the client.
FairfieldNodal Research and Development Made It Happen
Our longtime dedication to research and development fostered the creation of BOX technology. Our unique operational testing programs involve FairfieldNodal’s own BOX crew specialists, ensuring progressive development of the integral software and hardware; large volumes of commercial multicomponent data are acquired. Existing technologies incorporated into BOX have an established track record and have been sourced from within the seismic sector and from leading technology developers in other industries. Not surprisingly this is a key factor in equipping BOX with the most advanced technologies to bring to every survey.
Conserves Capital, Increases Productivity
When it comes to seismic acquisition systems, BOX is without peers in its ability to lower cost yet increase productivity. It not only is designed to radically improve productivity, it negates the need for contractors to maintain a pricey inventory of separate systems for each different acquisition environment.
BOX Adapts Smoothly, Whatever the Environment
The central recording system can be positioned at any convenient location within communication range of the system spread. BOX remote units are easily reconfigured for deployment in the specific environment. The central recording system communicates directly with each remote unit immediately upon deployment, which facilitates spread-checking and system start-ups each day.
BOX readily adapts to congested shallow water challenges such as infrastructure and environmentally sensitive areas. It is generally more economical and less complicated to use in addition to its capability to acquire higher quality multi-dimensional and multicomponent data than other systems. In shallow marine environments, fewer vessels are required to support BOX systems versus others.
